Emraan Hashmi was born as Emraan Anwar Hashmi on 24 March 1979 in Mumbai, India into a Muslim family to father Anwar Hashmi and mother Mahira Hashmi. Actress Purnima Das Verma was his Grandmother. Father Anwar Hashmi acted in Baharon Ke Manzil. Emraan Hashmi is an Indian actor who made his acting debut with a leading role in the crime thriller movie `Footpath` and gave so many successful movies like Murder, Zeher, Gangster, Awarapan, Jannat, Raaz: The Mystery Continues, Gangster, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Jannat, Murder 2, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, Jannat 2, Shanghai, Raaz 3 and etc. Before starting his acting career he worked as an assistant director for the 2002 horror movie `Raaz.` Emraan is the nephew of producers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, and the cousin of director Mohit Suri, actress Pooja Bhatt, actor Rahul Bhatt, actress Smiley Suri and actress Alia Bhatt.
